Artist Profile
Chris Sharp
Chris Sharp spent his early years in Africa. Upon returning to Aberdeen, he went to Aberdeen College of Commerce to study graphic design for two years, before studying sculpture and fine art at Gray’s School of Art. He has worked as a professional artist since 1983, producing work that reflects the beautiful Scottish landscapes and the wildlife that inhabits it. He specialises in the area of field sports and game fishing - in particular salmon fishing. His hugely impressive attention to detail, factual representation and fine workmanship is based on his keen personal interest in fishing and outdoor sports.
The inspiration for his paintings comes from the Scottish Highlands. The unique light conditions and colours often dictated by the Scottish weather produce beautiful atmospheric landscapes and backdrops which remain quietly untouched by man. He sells his work extensively through gallery exhibitions as well as individual commission work. He has an impressive list of patrons including multi-corporate businesses and British peerage.
