A Touch of Gold

The composition places a traditional white Scottish cottage in the upper left third, anchoring the scene while wild meadow grasses and flowers dominate the foreground, creating depth. Sweeping diagonal lines in the sky draw the eye across the canvas, with the warm sunset tones cascading down to meet the rich purple and red tones of the landscape.
