The artwork employs a layered depth approach with the solitary hiker positioned in the lower left third, creating scale against the imposing Great Gable mountain centred in the background. The undulating moorland in earthy tones draws the eye through the middle ground toward the dramatic peak, whilst soft clouds frame the upper portion.
