Artist Profile

Charlotte Strawbridge

Charlotte is a contemporary artist and writer based in Stirlingshire. Her work is deeply rooted in the natural world, drawing inspiration from the rich flora and fauna of the British countryside, the rugged beauty of Scottish landscapes, and the inherent wisdom found in the peace of wild things*. She works with oils, drawn to their versatile and textural qualities. Embracing the alla prima technique (‘at first attempt’), she completes most of her pieces in a single session, aiming to capture the joy and freshness of passing moments in nature. With each of her paintings, Charlotte creates illustrated thoughts from the animal’s perspective, inspiring contemplation on some big ideas. With her gentle and evocative short stories, she invites viewers to embark on a journey of mindfulness and gratitude, through observations on the little things in life, and the joys of nature.
