The composition draws the eye from the detailed rocky foreground with seaweed-covered tidal pools, through the sandy beach and calm turquoise waters in the middle ground, to the distant mountain range silhouetted against a luminous sunset sky. Dramatic rock formations create a strong vertical focal point in the centre.
