Blue Washing

The composition draws the eye from the windswept grasses in the foreground, through a cluster of traditional whitewashed cottages with distinctive red and dark roofs, towards dramatic snow-capped mountains under a brooding sky. A washing line with clothes adds narrative interest to the domestic scene.
